The University of Oklahoma women's gymnastics team will be the No. 1 overall seed for the NCAA Championships after a record-setting weekend to win the Big 12 title.

On Saturday, the Sooners set an NCAA team scoring record with 198.950 to win their third straight and 15th overall Big 12 title. The Sooners edged out Denver, BYU, Iowa State and West Virginia to win their last Big 12 title before joining the SEC.
"This record, that has stood for twenty years, that is very unusual," head coach K.J. Kindler said. "It's very impressive, I can't even tell you."
OU heads into the Ann Arbor Regional as the No. 1 overall seed, marking the 14th straight season that the Sooners have earned a No. 1 seed for regional competition. They'll take on No. 8 Alabama, No. 9 Michigan, No. 16 North Carolina State, No. 17 Ohio State, No. 23 Kent State, No. 25 Penn State, Illinois and Ball State.
The regional is scheduled for April 3-6, and the Sooners start competition in the second round on April 4. There will be a recovery day on April 5 between the second round and finals.
OU enters the regional 29-0 and have an NCAA record National Qualifying Score of 198.500. Kindler's squad has already faced two regional opponents – Alabama and Michigan – defeating both in Norman.
