AND, UM, HONESTLY, I FEEL INCREDIBLY BLESSED WITH THE PEOPLE I’VE BEEN ABLE TO WORK WITH SINCE I ARRIVED HERE AT OKLAHOMA. AND YOU MOVING TO THE SEC, A NEW GROUP OF COMPETITORS. HOW DO YOU GET THE ATHLETES READY FOR A CHANGE LIKE THAT? LET ME TELL YOU, THE SEC IS SOMETHING DIFFERENT. IT’S DEFINITELY INTENSE, ESPECIALLY IN THE SPORT OF WOMEN’S GYMNASTICS. UM, YOU’VE GOT PROBABLY EIGHT TEAMS RANKED IN THE TOP 20 IN THE COUNTRY IN THE SEC RIGHT NOW. SO, UH, A VERY COMPETITIVE FIELD. UH, DEFINITELY GOIN TO BE A CHALLENGE FOR OKLAHOMA. The OU women's gymnastics team is on an impressive run this season. The Sooners are No. 1 in the country and recently broke their all-time program scoring record two weeks in a row. "We've been taking on the toughest of tough opponents and really pleased where we are in this season and have a big one coming up," head coach KJ Kindler said.This weekend, OU takes on No. 7 Alabama.Get the latest news stories of interest by clicking here."This week is filled with hard training. Of course, we definitely have a routine. So, we work out a lot, four hours a day, that includes conditioning and practicing our routines," Kindler said. "Things are pretty on schedule right now."The program has won back-to-back NCAA national championships, and Kindler said she is looking to snag a third."We are celebrating our seniors this week with lots of activities to lift them up. It's definitely intense especially in the sport of women's gymnastics," Kindler said. "You've got probably eight teams ranked in the top 20 in the country in the SEC right now, so a very competitive field definitely going to be a challenge for Oklahoma."
