Cameron Sibert
Anchor/ReporterCameron Sibert is a morning anchor and reporter at KOCO 5 News, anchoring on the weekends with co-anchor Shelby Montgomery and meteorologist Taylor Cox.
Sibert began his career in KBMT-TV in Beaumont, Texas, where he was a reporter, producer and weekend anchor. While in Beaumont, he provided award-winning coverage of breaking news stories including a tornado outbreak and a prom after-party shooting that left nine teenagers injured. Cameron also reported on “Power City,” covering the petrochemical industry in Southeast Texas, including a 10-month lockout of union workers at Exxonmobil’s refinery in Beaumont.
Sibert also co-anchored the Friday Night Sports Blitz, voicing the highlights of Southeast Texas high school football for two seasons.
Cameron always wanted to be a journalist and says, as a kid, he was always asking questions and challenging other people’s opinions. He is passionate about storytelling and believes everyone has a story to tell.
When not at work, you can find Cameron on the golf course, meeting new people. He is a sports fanatic and supports teams from New England, where he grew up. Cameron is also passionate about Esports and enjoys both watching and competing. Cameron also enjoys spending time with family when possible and likes to travel. He is looking forward to exploring Oklahoma City while working at KOCO 5.
Cameron was born and raised in Bridgewater, Massachusetts, and loves Boston sports. He has fond memories of visiting Fenway Park, TD Garden and Gillette Stadium for games. He graduated from the University of Massachusetts, where he majored in Sports Journalism and minored in Information Technology. While at UMass, Cameron served as the Sports Director at the University radio station, 91.1 FM WMUA.
