Westmoore High School alumnus wins silver at Paralympic Games, goes for another medal Friday

Loccident has another chance to take home a medal as he competes in the high jump on Friday.

Westmoore High School alumnus wins silver at Paralympic Games, goes for another medal Friday

Loccident has another chance to take home a medal as he competes in the high jump on Friday.

He finished with a jump of 7.79 meters, and Germany's Markus Rehm won gold at 8.13 meters. Loccident's teammate, Jarryd Wallace, won bronze with a 7.49-meter jump. Derek Loccident claimed the silver in the men's T64 long jump. He finished with a jump of 7.79 meters, and Germany's Markus Rehm won gold at 8.13 meters. Loccident's teammate, Jarryd Wallace, won bronze with a 7.49-meter jump.

Moore Public Schools officials shared their support and pride for Loccident in a Facebook post.

"Former Westmoore High School athlete Derek Loccident is representing MPS like no other on the 2024 Paralympics WORLD stage," Moore Public Schools said in the post.

Loccident, who graduated from the University of Central Oklahoma in 2022, has another chance to take home a medal as he competes in the high jump on Friday.
