Just after 3:20 p.m. Friday, Pedro Ramirez-Anaya, 70, of Tulsa, was swimming with his wife in Ft. Gibson Lake when his wife said he had an odd look on his face while swimming to a nearby island. After asking if he was OK, Ramirez-Anaya did not say anything but made a motion around his chest, troopers said.
He shortly went underwater, and his wife attempted to hold him up when two people came and assisted. The Taylor’s Ferry Fire Department launched a boat and recovered his body, troopers said.
At about 4:50 p.m. Friday at Lake Texoma, the patrol reported Allyson Byron, 41, was floating on her back, about 20 feet from the shore and went underwater and did not resurface. She was recovered in 3 feet of water, troopers said.
Ramirez-Anaya and Byron were not wearing life jackets, the patrol reported.
