RESPONDING. HERE’S KOCO ANDY WEBER. WE WANT OUR STUDENTS TO BE PATRIOTIC. WE WANT OUR STUDENTS TO FLY THE FLAG. WE WANT THEM TO HONOR THE FLAG. RYAN WALTERS ISSUED A NEW MANDATE FOR SCHOOLS ON FLYING THE AMERICAN FLAG. ONE WEEK AFTER EDMOND PUBLIC SCHOOLS WERE IN HOT WATER FOR THEIR OWN RULES ON FLYING FLAGS. WHILE ON CAMPUS. WALTERS, WANTING DISTRICTS TO ESTABLISH A CLEAR POLICY THAT ENSURES THE AMERICAN FLAG CAN BE FLOWN AND DISPLAYED WITHOUT INFRINGEMENT. EDMOND SUPERINTENDENT, RESPONDING WITH A LETTER TO FAMILIES SAYING WHILE PREVIOUS PRACTICES WERE DESIGNED TO PREVENT THE FLAG FROM BEING USED AS RESPECTFULLY, THEY’LL DEVELOP NEW POLICIES TO ENSURE THE FLAG CAN BE FLOWN IN A SAFE AND RESPECTFUL MANNER. THE SUPERINTENDENT, WRITING THE DISTRICT IS PROUDLY PATRIOTIC JUST SOUTH OF EDMOND OKARCHE. CPS SAYS THEIR LEGAL TEAM IS COMPARING THEIR CURRENT POLICIES ON THE FLAG AND PLEDGE TO THE NEW STATE MANDATE. MID-DEL SCHOOLS, HOME TO TINKER AIR FORCE BASE, SAY THEY ARE REVIEWING THE NEW GUIDELINES, BUT MADE IT CLEAR THE FLAG IS FLOWN THROUGHOUT THEIR CAMPUSES AND ARE PROUD TO SERVE MEN AND WOMEN IN UNIFORM AND THEIR FAMILIES. MUSTANG SCHOOLS DIRECTING US TO THEIR BOARD POLICY THAT ALREADY REQUIRES THE FLAG BE FLOWN. DISTRICTS IN MOORE AND NORMAN SAY THEY ARE STILL REVIEWING THESE NEW MANDATES, BUT BELIEVE THEY ARE ALREADY IN COMPLIANCE. DEER CREEK DECLINED TO COMMENT.
