AFTERNOON FOR ROAD WORK. NEW AT NINE. WE ARE JUST TEN DAYS OUT FROM THE SOLAR ECLIPSE AND EVEN IF YOU AREN’T TRAVELING TO WATCH IT, THERE ARE MANY OPPORTUNITIES TO WATCH IT HERE IN TOWN. YEAH, METEOROLOGIST TAYLOR COX IS IN STUDIO WITH US THIS MORNING AND TAYLOR THE CAPITOL HILL LIBRARY IS ACTUALLY OFFERING BILINGUAL ECLIPSE ACTIVITIES. YES THEY ARE. SO THE METROPOLITAN LIBRARY IS PREPARING FOR THE SOLAR ECLIPSE WITH EDUCATIONAL ACTIVITIES FOR BOTH SPANISH AND ENGLISH SPEAKING COMMUNITIES. NOW, NASA PROVIDED MANY TOOLS TO TEACH CHILDREN ABOUT THE ECLIPSE, INCLUDING BOOKS AND TELESCOPES. WE SPOKE WITH THE LOCAL LIBRARIAN WHO HELPED BRING THESE NASA ACTIVITIES TO OKLAHOMA CITY. KIDS THAT AT YOUNG AGE GET REALLY EXCITED ABOUT SCIENCE RELATED STUFF. UM, IF THEY HEAR NASA AND ANYTHING, IT’S LIKE, AH, WHAT’S, YOU KNOW, WHAT’S HAPPENING? BUT YEAH, IT’S WONDERFUL TO BE ABLE TO INTRODUCE SOME OF THESE CHILDREN TO SOMETHING THAT MAYBE THEY’VE NEVER HEARD ABOUT. SO THEY WILL HAVE ACTIVITIES LEADING UP TO THE ECLIPSE, AND THEN A WATCH PARTY ON THE DAY OF. YOU CAN ALSO PICK UP SOLAR ECLIPSE GLASSES AT ANY METRO LIBRARY LOCATION STARTS APRIL 1ST.
