EVAN. JESS. THAT’S RIGHT. THIS BAND IS ACTUALLY SET TO GO ON TOUR STARTING NEXT MONTH, BUT THAT COULD BE IN JEOPARDY NOW WITHOUT A MODE OF TRANSPORTATION. WE GOT OUT AS FAST AS WE COULD. THE FIRE WAS ON THE BACK RIGHT TIRE. C.J. COCHRAN, GUITARIST FOR THE TULSA BASED BAND OUTLAW IN COLOR, DESCRIBING THE MOMENTS HE REALIZED SOMETHING WAS WRONG. THE BAND TRAVELING BACK HOME FROM A SHOW IN LAS VEGAS, NEVADA, WHEN THEIR VAN SUDDENLY CAUGHT FIRE ON THE TURNER TURNPIKE. WE STARTED HEARING A GRINDING, KIND OF SOUND OR A SCREECHING KIND OF SOUND. AS SOON AS WE WERE DRIVING THROUGH OKLAHOMA CITY, HE SAYS. THEY WERE HAVING MECHANICAL ISSUES AND STOPPED TO GET IT FIXED IN AMARILLO. BUT AS THEY WERE JUST TWO HOURS AWAY FROM HOME, THEIR VAN AND MOST OF THEIR BELONGINGS WENT UP IN SMOKE JUST WATCHED IT BECAUSE, I MEAN, WHAT ELSE CAN YOU DO? COCHRAN SAYS THEY LOST CLOTHES, LAPTOPS AND OTHER PERSONAL BELONGINGS. THANKFULLY, HE SAYS, THEIR INSTRUMENTS AND GEAR WERE IN A TRAILER BEING TOWED BY THE VAN, BUT NOT BURNED. THAT’S ALL OF OUR MUSIC GEAR. THAT’S THOUSANDS AND THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS. BUT WITH A MULTI-CITY TOUR WITH ALTERNATIVE ROCK BAND THE RED JUMPSUIT APPARATUS SET TO START IN APRIL, THE BAND IS SCRAMBLING TO FIND A NEW SET OF WHEELS. MOST IMPORTANTLY, A NEW VAN. YES, RIGHT NOW, THE BAND HAS SET UP A GOFUNDME ACCOUNT TO TRY AND GET BACK UP AND RUNNING. WE HAVE A LINK POSTED TO THAT GOFUND
