SHOOTINGS WERE NOT RELATED. GUY. THAT’S RIGHT. POLICE AND HARRAH SPENT TODAY TRYING TO PIECE TOGETHER WHAT EXACTLY HAPPENED AFTER A STRING OF SHOOTINGS HAPPENED WITHIN THE SAME TIME FRAME. BUT THEY SAY THESE WEREN’T RELATED. WE REALLY DIDN’T KNOW WHAT WAS GOING ON. IMAGINE LIKE PUTTING FIVE METAL FORKS IN A MICROWAVE AND POP, POP, POP POP POP. THE HARRAH POLICE DEPARTMENT FIRSTRILLIONESPONDED TO A SHOOTING NEAR SOUTHEAST 29TH AND SOUTH HARROW ROAD, WHERE SOMEONE WAS SHOT IN THE LEG WHILE THEY WERE AT THAT SCENE. ANOTHER CALL CAME OUT NEAR SOUTH PEVELY ROAD AND SOUTHEAST 29TH, WHICH THE OKLAHOMA COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE IS TAKING OVER. THE LAST CALL CAME IN FROM SEVERAL PEOPLE ABOUT SHOTS FIRED IN A NEIGHBORHOOD. THE STRING OF SHOOTINGS ALL HAPPENING LATE SATURDAY NIGHT. WHEN WE GOT THERE, A WITNESS HAD SAID THAT THERE WERE TWO CARS IN THE IN THE ROAD AND THAT THEY HAD BEEN SHOOTING AT EACH OTHER. WE HAD ALSO RECEIVED INFORMATION THAT ONE OF THE VEHICLES WAS SHOOTING IN THE AIR. TURNS OUT ONE OF THE NEIGHBORS WAS SHOOTING AT CARS. HARRAH PD SAYS THEY DON’T KNOW IF THIS SHOOTING WAS TARGETED. IT’S CRAZY THAT IT’S HAPPENING HERE SPECIFICALLY, BUT IT’S NOT CRAZY WITH EVERYTHING THAT’S GOING ON IN THE WORLD THAT HARRAH IS NO DIFFERENT FROM EVERYBODY. EVERYWHERE ELSE. YOU’RE NOT, YOU KNOW, YOU DON’T. Police spent Monday trying to put together the pieces after a busy Saturday night in Harrah.The police chief, Marty Burns, said three separate shootings happened around the same time but it seemed none of them were related."We really didn’t know what was going on," Burns said.Get the latest news stories of interest by clicking here.Harrah PD responded to a shooting near Southeast 29th Street and South Harrah Road where someone was shot in the leg. While police were at that scene, another call came out near South Peebly Road and Southeast 29th Street, which the Oklahoma County Sheriff's Office took over."Imagine putting five metal forks in the microwave and hearing, 'Pop, pop, pop, pop, pop,'" said Zaria Couch who lives in the neighborhood.The last call came in from several people about shots fired in a neighborhood. The string of shootings all happened late Saturday night."When we got there, a witness said there were two cars in the road and they had been shooting at each other. Harrah PD said they don't know if the shooting was targeted."It's crazy that it's happening here specifically but it's not with everything going on in the world. Harrah’s no different than everywhere else. You're not taken away from everywhere else because you live in a small town. It's going to come here eventually," Couch said.Harrah PD said they haven't arrested any suspects in connection to the shootings but said none of them seem to be related, so far.
