TONIGHT. DAKOTA, THERE ARE RUMBLINGS THAT THIS VOTE COULD BE ILLEGITIMATE. YEAH, TAYLOR BROYLES WITH THE OKLAHOMA YOUNG REPUBLICANS SAYS SHE WASN’T NOTIFIED OF THAT VOTE IN THIS RESOLUTION CONDEMNING THE SENATOR COULD BE A FIRST NO SITTING SENATOR HAS EVER BEEN CENSURED BY, UM, THE PARTY, UM, HIS OWN PARTY AFTER WORKING ON A BIPARTISAN DEAL, WORKING TO SECURE THE BORDER. LANKFORD IS NOW BEING CONDEMNED AND CENSURED BY THE REPUBLICAN PARTY, HIS OWN. THIS COMES AFTER FORMER PRESIDENT DONALD TRUMP STEPPED IN AND SAID DID NOT GIVE DEMOCRATS A WIN WITH THE BORDER, SOME ALREADY CALLING THIS RESOLUTION ILLEGITIMATE. BUT MY UNDERSTANDING IS THAT THIS MAY NOT HAVE BEEN THE FULL PARTY. IT MAY HAVE BEEN A FACTION OF THE REPUBLICAN PARTY IN THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA. TAYLOR BROYLES, THE CHAIRWOMAN OF OKLAHOMA YOUNG REPUBLICANS, SAYS SHE AND MANY OTHERS WITHIN YOUNG REPUBLICANS DIDN’T KNOW THIS WAS COMING. WHEN YOU ALL FOUND OUT ABOUT IT WAS THE SAME TIME THAT I FOUND OUT ABOUT IT. UM, AND IT’S SOMETHING THAT DEFINITELY CAUGHT US AS AN ORGANIZATION, OFF GUARD. SHE WAS LEFT OFF THE VOTE WITHIN THE PARTY’S STATE COMMITTEE. ACCORDING TO OKC GOP RULES, HER ORGANIZATION HAS A VOTING SEAT ON THE PARTY’S STATE COMMITTEE. SHE SAID SHE WAS NEVER TOLD ABOUT THE MEETING. KOCO LEARNING ABOUT THIS RESOLUTION LAST NIGHT. BROYLES SAYING SHE LEARNED ABOUT IT AT THE SAME TIME. TO ME, IT’S REALLY DISAPPOINTING THAT WE’RE ATTACKING SOMEONE LIKE THAT BECAUSE HE HAS DONE SO MUCH FOR OKLAHOMA IN GENERAL. WE HAVE TO WORK BIPARTISAN DEALS. THAT’S JUST PART OF IT, SHE SAYS. IT COULD AFFECT HER RECRUITMENT OF YOUNG REPUBLICANS, ROWLETT SAYING IT COULD BE AN INTERESTING TIME FOR LANKFORD WITH OKLAHOMANS IF THE REPUBLICAN PARTY, UH, IS COALESCING AROUND A LEADER. UM, WHO IS THE VOICE AND THE ONLY VOICE IN THAT PARTY AND THE ONLY VOICE THAT MATTERS? UM, THEN IT’S GOING TO BE DIFFICULT FOR HIM. WE REACHED OUT TO LANKFORD’S OFFICE AND HAVE NOT HEARD BACK. HOWEVER, WE ARE EXPECTING HIM ON KOCO FIVE TOMORROW MORNING
