A suspect surrendered to law enforcement after a barricade situation Thursday afternoon at a Norman home.

The Norman Police Department and a SWAT team were at a home near Lindsey Street and 24th Avenue Southeast. Police and the SWAT team surrounded the home and brought a Bearcat vehicle to the scene before the suspect surrendered without incident.
Police said the suspect barricaded himself inside the home after he was involved in an assault with a firearm earlier in the day.
No one else was believed to be inside the residence, according to police.
The incident didn't involve any schools, but the public was asked to avoid the area as officers responded to the situation.
