Now, KOCO investigates why The Eleanor shut down in the first place. This comes after customers showed up to The Eleanor for an event and were greeted by a dark building and locked doors.
The owner told KOCO 5 she gave refunds to everyone who made a deposit or prepayment at The Eleanor. A woman who spoke with KOCO 5 on Monday said she did receive her refund, but why did it close abruptly?

Tax liens discovered by KOCO 5 could be the reason.
"I know sometimes businesses have hard times, but we really just wanted communication to know," said Rachel, a customer who wished not to share her last name.
On Monday, Rachel said she booked an event at The Eleanor that didn't happen. Dozens of others online said the same thing, but now, the owner said the refunds have been returned and confirmed The Eleanor is permanently closed.
Rachel told KOCO 5 she was "glad to hear they formally announced being closed so it can't happen to other people."
On Wednesday, KOCO 5 uncovered multiple tax liens against the owner from several different businesses she owns, including The Eleanor. The petition, filed in June of 2022, showed she and others from a group called Fox OK Management owned thousands of dollars for failing to pay sales taxes, withholding taxes and mixed beverage taxes at a nightclub known as Saints Ultra Lounge.
While those involved denied any wrongdoing, an agreement was filed in February of this year stating Fox OK Management owed over $270,000 and counting and the court shut down Saints Lounge. Records show The Eleanor's owner has helped start a new business at the property: a bar and nightclub called Poe.

While investigating, KOCO 5 also uncovered documents given to The Eleanor by the Oklahoma Tax Commission in April. The cease and desist ordered the business to stop "making sales of tangible personal property" without a valid permit.
Online records show multiple state tax warrants since April of this year at The Eleanor, adding up to over $94,000.
The owner of The Eleanor didn't comment on any of the tax records but did say she has started making payments on the other business tax bill. KOCO 5 wants to be clear there are no criminal filings against her.
KOCO 5 also heard from the Able Commission on Wednesday that they've received multiple complaints and they are also investigating.
