Shelby Montgomery anchors KOCO 5 News Weekend Mornings with co-anchor Zach Rael and meteorologist Taylor Cox, and reports weekday mornings.

Shelby previously reported for KOCO 5 News weekdays. She began her career at KVIA-TV in El Paso, Texas where she was a reporter, producer and weekend morning anchor. While in El Paso, she covered breaking news stories including the El Paso Walmart shooting, former President Trump’s multiple visits, and migrant surges at the border that made national headlines.

Shelby loves to tell stories and explore the Oklahoma community. In her free time, she enjoys walks with her dog, trying the best local food spots and going on adventures. She also volunteers her time as the Vice President of a non-profit called Mija, Yes You Can, which focuses on empowering and awarding scholarships to women of all ages.

Shelby was born and raised in Las Cruces, New Mexico. She graduated from New Mexico State University where she majored in Journalism and Mass Communications and minored in Government.
