Police say a 52-year-old man died after being shot multiple times Friday afternoon in a Norman neighborhood.
The situation prompted a large police presence while officers searched for and eventually caught the suspect. On Saturday, neighbors told KOCO 5 that the news of the death and seeing it all unfold was difficult to hear.
"My anxiety was really high. Like, I was shaking," Faith Cooper said. "We have a lot of kids in the neighborhood anyway. So, something like that is really concerning and, hopefully, it doesn't happen again."
Cooper and her family were home in the neighborhood off Twisted Oak Drive in southeast Norman during the heavy police presence on Friday. She was just waking up from a nap before going to work when she saw many Norman police officers surrounding her neighborhood and a nearby apartment complex.

Police confirmed on Saturday that a man was shot multiple times and died on the way to a hospital.
"I was definitely shaken up. I know they said they were pretty badly wounded, but I didn't know they died," Cooper said. "Hearing that they died, knowing I live a few houses down, it's pretty gut-wrenching, pretty anxiety-filling."
Another neighbor who did not want to be named said he was worried because he saw police resources like helicopters and drones.
"Anytime you see something like a SWAT team, you get a little nervous," he said.
Police arrested the suspect near Lindsey Street and 12th Avenue Southeast, which is about a mile and a half north of the shooting scene. Cooper said she was driving by the area and saw the arrest.
"I was like, 'Oh, I wonder if that's like the guy. Wow, it's a busy day in Norman, isn't it?'" Cooper said.
The suspect was booked into the Cleveland County Detention Center. KOCO 5 has not released the suspect's name because formal charges have not been filed.
