PAPAKEECHIE WHAT THEY THOUGHT WHEN THEY FOUND OUT. MY ANXIETY WAS REALLY HIGH. LIKE I WAS SHAKING. IT’S PRETTY SCARY. YOU NEVER KNOW WHAT CAN HAPPEN. CHAOS INSIDE THIS NORMAN NEIGHBORHOOD FRIDAY AFTER A 52 YEAR OLD MAN WAS SHOT AND KILLED TODAY. NEIGHBORS SAYS THAT DEATH AND THE CHAOS HERE WAS GUT WRENCHING. WE HAVE A LOT OF KIDS IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD ANYWAY, SO IT’S SOMETHING LIKE THAT HAPPENING. IT’S LIKE REALLY CONCERNING. AND I’M KIND OF WORRIED, LIKE, HOPEFULLY IT DOESN’T HAPPEN AGAIN. FAITH COOPER AND HER FAMILY WERE HOME IN THIS NEIGHBORHOOD OFF OF TWISTED OAK DRIVE IN SOUTHEAST NORMAN DURING A HEAVY SCENE FROM NORMAN POLICE FRIDAY AFTERNOON. SHE WAS JUST WAKING UP FROM A NAP BEFORE GOING TO WORK WHEN SHE SAW MANY OFFICERS SURROUNDING HER NEIGHBORHOOD IN THE NEARBY APARTMENT COMPLEX SATURDAY, POLICE CONFIRM A 52 YEAR OLD MAN WAS SHOT MULTIPLE TIMES AROUND HERE, DYING ON THE WAY TO THE HOSPITAL. I WAS DEFINITELY, LIKE, SHAKEN UP FOR REAL BECAUSE, YOU KNOW, I KNOW THAT THEY SAID THAT THEY WERE PRETTY BAD WOUNDED, BUT I DIDN’T THINK, LIKE, YOU KNOW, THAT THEY DIED. SO HEARING THAT THEY DIED KNOWING THAT I LIVE A FEW HOUSES DOWN FROM ME LIKE IT’S PRETTY LIKE GUT WRENCHING, PRETTY ANXIETY FEELING. ANOTHER NEIGHBOR WHO WANTED TO BE UNNAMED, SAYS HE WAS ALSO HERE AND WAS WORRIED BECAUSE HE SAW POLICE RESOURCES LIKE HELICOPTERS AND DRONES. ANYTIME YOU SEE SOMETHING LIKE A SWAT TEAM, YOU GET A LITTLE NERVOUS. NORMAN SUSPECT WAS ARRESTED JUST ABOUT HALF A MILE NORTH OF THE SCENE NEAR LINDSAY STREET, AND NORTHEAST 12TH AVENUE. COOPER SAYS SHE WAS JUST DRIVING BY THE AREA AND SAW THE ARREST. I WAS LIKE, OH, I WONDER IF THAT’S LIKE, THE GUY, BECAUSE I WAS LIKE, WOW, IT’S JUST A BUSY DAY IN NORMAN, ISN’T IT? THE SUSPECT IN THIS IS BEHIND BARS AT THE CLEVELAND COUNTY JAIL, AND WE ARE NOT SAYING THEIR NAME AS THEY HAVE NOT BEEN FORMALLY CHARG
