UPDATE FROM POLICE. YEAH, GUYS, I’D SAY THE SITUATION HAS DEFINITELY ESCALATED IN THE LAST HALF HOUR OR SO. POLICE TELLING US THEY DO HAVE A PERSON OF INTEREST IN CUSTODY. A LITTLE BIT BETTER. LOCATION IS OFF OF OAKHURST AVENUE HERE ON TWIN OAKS DRIVE. NOW HERE’S THE LATEST INFO WE HAVE RIGHT NOW. THIS IS FROM NORMAN POLICE. THERE WAS A SEARCH FOR A SUSPECT THIS AFTERNOON AFTER A SHOOTING HERE ON TWIN OAKS DRIVE. THE CONDITION OF THAT VICTIM IS NOT KNOWN. RIGHT NOW. TACTICAL TEAMS SWAT TEAMS WERE CALLED TO THIS AREA AND ABOUT PROBABLY 45 MINUTES AGO, WE WERE TOLD A PERSON OF INTEREST IS IN CUSTODY. NOW, POLICE DON’T KNOW WHAT STARTED ALL THIS YET, BUT WE’RE TOLD THE SUSPECT FLED THE SCENE OF THE SHOOTING. AND THAT’S WHEN THAT SEARCH EFFORT STARTED. WE WERE PRETTY QUICKLY ABLE TO OBTAIN SOME SUSPECT DESCRIPTIONS FROM POTENTIAL WITNESSES OR PEOPLE IN THE AREA THAT SAW THAT INDIVIDUAL LEAVING THE AREA. WE’RE CURRENTLY WORKING. WE SPENT THE LAST SEVERAL HOURS WORKING TO LOCATE THAT INDIVIDUAL, AND CURRENTLY HAVE ONE PERSON OF INTEREST DETAINED. NOW, CLEARLY YOU CAN SEE THIS IS A SUBURBAN NEIGHBORHOOD. THERE WERE LOTS OF NEIGHBORS WATCHING ALL OF THIS UNFOLD. KOCO’S KOLBY TERRELL IS STANDING BY AND COLBY, YOU TALKED WITH SOME OF THOSE NEIGHBORS. WELL, JASON, ONE HOMEOWNER TOLD ME SHE WAS AWAY FROM HERE WHEN SHE HEARD THAT THERE WAS A SHOOTING AND HER KID WAS HOME. SO THANKFULLY, WHEN SHE GOT HERE, SHE REALIZED THAT HER SON WAS FINE. BUT SHE SAYS THE DRIVE HERE WAS A SCARY ONE. THESE NEIGHBORS HAVE BEEN WATCHING AS YOU SEE A TECH TEAMS AND POLICE CARS HAVE BEEN SPEEDING THROUGH THIS NEIGHBORHOOD. SOME ARE EVEN WAITING ON THEIR KIDS BECAUSE THEY TELL US A COUPLE LOCAL SCHOOLS THEY SEARCHED. NOW WE ACTUALLY JUST SAW A COUPLE OF BUSSES COME THROUGH AND DROP OFF THOSE KIDS. BUT BUT HEARING THAT THERE WAS A SHOOTING MAKES ONE PERSON I TALKED TO VERY UNCOMFORTABLE. IT LIKE KIND OF PUTS YOU ON EDGE. LIKE IT’S MY NEIGHBORHOOD SAFE. YOU KNOW? I KNOW WE’RE CONTINUING TO HEAR FROM MORE NEIGHBORHOODS, MORE NEIGHBORS AS THIS UNFOLDS AND KIND OF STARTS TO DE-ESCALATE, LIKE JASON SAID. SO STAY TUNED AN
