923 IS THE TIME BACK TO THAT BREAKING NEWS. AMBULANCES AND FIRE CREWS ON THE SCENE OF A HOUSE FIRE IN MIDWEST CITY. OUR CREWS ON THAT SCENE AS ONE PERSON WAS TAKEN TO THE HOSPITAL. KOCO AUDREY GOODSON JOINS US LIVE NOW NEAR RENO AND DOUGLAS. AND AUDREY, YOU JUST SPOKE WITH CREWS. WHAT CAN YOU TELL US? THAT’S RIGHT. I’VE JUST SPOKEN WITH CREWS HERE ON SCENE. THEY TELL ME THEY’RE WRAPPING THINGS UP RIGHT NOW, BUT YOU CAN SEE THEY’RE STILL HERE LINING THE STREETS. NOW, WHAT’S CRAZY ABOUT THIS IS THEY SAY THAT NEIGHBORS WERE ACTUALLY THE ONES THAT CALLED THIS FIRE IN. THEY SAY THAT THOSE NEIGHBORS COULD HEAR THE SMOKE ALARMS FROM THIS HOME BLARING THROUGHOUT THE NEIGHBORHOOD. THOSE NEIGHBORS CALLING FIRE CREWS. NOW, THOSE NEIGHBORS WERE TRYING TO BE HEROES, TRYING TO SAVE THEY ACTUALLY BUSTED THROUGH SEVERAL OF THE WINDOWS HERE IN AN ATTEMPT TO SAVE THOSE PETS. BUT WHEN THE HOMEOWNER GOT BACK, CREWS TELL US THAT SHE ALSO TRIED GOING INSIDE TO GET HER ANIMALS. SHE WAS ABLE TO GET BACK. SHE WAS ABLE TO GET BACK OUT, BUT WAS TAKEN TO THE HOSPITAL FROM BREATHING IN TOO MUCH SMOKE. SADLY, TWO OF HER DOGS DID NOT MAKE IT OUT AND CREWS TELL US THAT WOMAN WAS ALERT AND TALKING WITH THEM AND THEY DO EXPECT HER TO BE OKAY. THEY SAY MOST OF THE DAMAGE APPEARS TO BE IN THE KITCHEN AREA AT THE FRONT OF THE HOME, BUT RIGHT NOW THE CAUSE IS STILL UNDER INVESTIGATION. CREWS TELL ME THEY’RE IN THE OVERHAUL PHASE OF THIS FIRE. A woman was taken to a hospital after trying to save her pets from a house fire that sparked Wednesday morning in a Midwest City neighborhood.>> Get the latest news stories of interest by clicking here.Crews told KOCO 5 that neighbors could hear smoke alarms going off at a home near North Douglas and Reno around 8 a.m. They went outside, saw flames coming from the front of the home and called 911.The neighbors knew the homeowners had pets inside, so they busted through windows and tried to save them, according to officials. Crews told KOCO 5 that neighbors could hear smoke alarms going off at a home near North Douglas and Reno around 8 a.m. They went outside, saw flames coming from the front of the home and called 911.
