On the first day of a new type of "coffee with coach" held by University of Alabama at Birmingham Head Coach Trent Dilfer, there was a surprise guest.Toward the end of the chat, Dilfer's phone buzzed on his desk. He took a look at it and mentioned that he had never not answered his grandson before.He looked like he might continue, but then he paused. And he picked up the phone. A child's voice said hello. And everyone at that coffee chat entered into the personal life of Trent Dilfer rather than just the coaching one.Dilfer's grandson had built something and wanted to show him. Then he knocked it down.Dilfer asked if he wanted to be on television, knowing sister station WVTM was livestreaming the chat. He then turned the phone around for everyone to say hi.
