WELL, ABBY AND EVAN, OHP DOESN’T KNOW WHAT EXACTLY CAUSED THIS CRASH AT THIS TIME. AND THEY SAY THERE’S STILL A LOT THAT GOES INTO THE INVESTIGATION. BUT YEAH, THAT TRUCK ACTUALLY COLLIDED WITH TWO MOTORCYCLES, WHICH KILLED THEM ON SCENE. TERRIFYING. IT HAPPENS FAR TOO OFTEN. ON 177. THIS WAS THE SCENE FROM SKY FIVE AFTER A DOUBLE DEADLY ACCIDENT ALONG U.S. 177 NEAR EAST 68TH STREET IN PAYNE COUNTY. TRUCK WAS SOUTHBOUND ON US HIGHWAY ONE. 77 WAS ATTEMPTING TO MAKE A LEFT HAND TURN INTO A PRIVATE BUSINESS, AND A COLLISION ENSUED AFTER THE IMPACT, KILLING TWO MOTORCYCLISTS GOING NORTHBOUND. JOHNNY BRUCE AND SCOTT WITTMAN, BOTH 54 YEAR OLD MEN FROM PERKINS. ACCORDING TO OHP, THE TWO WEREN’T WEARING HELMETS. THEIR HOMICIDE UNIT NOW INVESTIGATING. THERE’S A LOT OF DIFFERENT THINGS THAT GO INTO THESE INVESTIGATIONS. OHP WILL LOOK AT WEATHER CONDITIONS, THE SPEED OF EVERYONE INVOLVED AND IF ANYONE WAS AT FAULT. AS FAR AS IF THE DRIVER OF THE TRUCK WILL BE CHARGED, IF IT’S CHARGEABLE, IF THAT DRIVER DID COMMIT A TRAFFIC VIOLATION WHEN THAT COLLISION DID OCCUR, THEN IT COULD BE AGAIN PASSED UP TO THE DISTRICT ATTORNEY. AND OHP SAYS THEY DON’T KNOW HOW LONG THIS INVESTIGATION COULD TAKE, BUT THEY DID TELL US THAT THE DRIVER OF THAT TRUCK WAS COOPERATING WITH INVESTIGATORS REPORTING LIVE IN PAYNE COUNTY
