YOU KNOW, IT’S BEEN MORE THAN 24 HOURS SINCE BRENDAN HARRINGTON WAS LAST SEEN. OSU POLICE SAY THE 20 YEAR OLD TOLD HIS FAMILY HE WAS GOING TO KAYAK ACROSS THE LAKE FROM ONE SIDE TO THE OTHER, BUT BRENDAN NEVER CAME BACK. WE DID FIND THE KAYAK THAT HE WAS IN AND IT WAS FULL OF WATER. A FULL SCALE SEARCH IS UNDERWAY FOR A MISSING 20 YEAR OLD AT LAKE CARL BLACKWELL. OSU POLICE SAY BRENDAN HARRINGTON WAS KAYAKING ACROSS THE LAKE WHEN HIS FAMILY REPORTED HIM MISSING JUST BEFORE 4 P.M. SUNDAY. THE FAMILY WAS OUT HERE JUST ENJOYING A NICE START TO THE SUMMER AND THEY WERE OUT HERE TO RIDE THEIR KAYAKS AND AND THE INDIVIDUAL STARTED TO MAKE HIS WAY FROM ONE SIDE OF THE LAKE TO THE OTHER. DIVE TEAMS BEGAN SEARCHING THE WATER AND CHECKING THE SHORELINES. THEY ARE DOING A GRID SEARCH OF THE AREA WHERE THE KAYAKER WAS LAST SEEN. WITHIN 30 MINUTES, AUTHORITIES FOUND BRENDAN’S KAYAK. WE WERE TOLD THAT HE DID NOT HAVE A LIFE JACKET WITH HIM. POLICE SAY THEY DON’T KNOW WHAT CAUSED BRENDAN TO FALL INTO THE LAKE, BUT SAY WINDS WERE STRONG AS HOURS GO BY. POLICE SAY THE ODDS OF FINDING BRENDAN SAFE ARE GROWING SLIM DUE TO THE AMOUNT OF TIME THAT HAS PASSED, AS WELL AS THE EXTENSIVE SEARCH THAT WE’VE DONE OF THE SHORELINE VIA THE WATER AND ITS AIR. LIKE I MENTIONED BEFORE, WE REALLY BELIEVE THIS IS PROBABLY MORE OF A RECOVERY EFFORT AT THE MOMENT. LAST NIGHT’S STORMS FORCED AUTHORITIES TO CALL OFF SEARCH AND RESCUE. THOSE TEAMS WERE BACK HERE AT 630 THIS MORNING, CANVASING THE LAKE, SEARCHING FOR BRENDAN. REPORTIN
