THE NBA’S MOST PRESTIGIOUS AWARD WAS ANNOUNCED TONIGHT. SHAY GILGEOUS ALEXANDER, ONE OF THREE FINALISTS FOR MVP ALONG WITH LUKA DONCIC AND NIKOLA JOKIC. SUGA’S CAREER TRAJECTORY STILL KEEPS GOING UP, UP AND UP, AND FINISHING SECOND TO JOKIC IS STILL QUITE AN HONOR FOR THE THUNDER’S 25 YEAR OLD PHENOM. THE VOTING WASN’T QUITE AS CLOSE AS MANY THOUGHT IT WOULD BE. SGA RECEIVED 15 FIRST PLACE VOTES TO JOKIC, 79. CHECK OUT 11 MORE VOTES THAN DONCIC DID FOR FIRST PLACE AND OUTPACED HIM FOR THE SECOND PLACE VOTES, AS WELL. THIRD MVP IN FOUR YEARS IS VERY EXCLUSIVE COMPANY IN THE HISTORY OF THE NBA. The Thunder point guard finished third in scoring with 30.1 points per game.Although Gilgeous-Alexander wasn't named the MVP, he and the Thunder are still in contention to win an NBA title.
