THAT IS WHERE WE START WITH YOUR TOP FIVE STORIES AT 4:00 OKLAHOMA CITY POLICE SAY A TIP LED INVESTIGATORS TO A HOUSE NEAR SOUTHEAST 59TH AND BRYANT, WHERE A MAKESHIFT GRAVE HAS BEEN FOUND. INVESTIGATORS HAVE BEEN IN AND OUT OF THIS HOUSE ALL DAY TRYING TO PIECE TOGETHER WHAT EXACTLY HAPPENED. BUT MOMENTS AGO, WE JUST LEARNED THAT A BODY HAS BEEN FOUND IN THE BACKYARD. NOW, A MAN WAS BOOKED EARLY THIS MORNING IN CONNECTION TO A HOMICIDE. INVESTIGATORS HAVE BEEN WORKING THROUGHOUT THE NIGHT TO UNCOVER WHAT WE NOW KNOW IS A HOMICIDE SCENE. AT THIS HOUSE NEAR SOUTHEAST 59TH AND BRYANT. ACCORDING TO POLICE, THEY SAY SOMEONE TIPPED OFF THE DEPARTMENT ABOUT A CRIME THAT HAPPENED AT THE HOUSE. AND THAT A BODY MAY BE IN THE BACKYARD AFTER AN EXTENSIVE SEARCH. THEY JUST FOUND A BODY WITHIN THE LAST HOUR. SKY 5 WAS ALSO OVER THE SCENE AS INVESTIGATORS SIFTED THROUGH DIRT AND CAREFULLY PROCESSED THE SCENE. POLICE HAVE BEEN SAYING ALL DAY THEY HAD EVERY REASON TO BELIEVE A BODY WAS ON THIS PROPERTY. AFTER THAT TIP CAME IN. NOW THEY EXCAVATED THE MAKESHIFT GRAVE THIS AFTERNOON. AFTER CAREFULLY PROCESSING THE SCENE, THEY SAY THE SEARCH EFFORTS TOOK SO LONG BECAUSE IT’S A METICULOUS PROCESS AND THEY DIDN’T WANT TO MESS UP ANY EVIDENCE. BUT AFTER SEARCHING FOR HOURS, THEY FINALLY RECOVERED A BODY. POLICE FOLLOWED UP ON THAT TIP, WENT TO THAT RESIDENCE, SECURED IT, BELIEVED A CRIME HAD BEEN COMMITTED THERE IN THEIR IN THE RESIDENCE. POLICE WERE ALSO GIVEN A TIP THAT THERE WAS A DECEASED PERSON THERE ON THE PROPERTY. UH, FOLLOWED UP ON THAT, BEGAN EXCAVATE IN THE BACKYARD OF THAT RESIDENCE. A suspect was booked into the Oklahoma County jail Wednesday in connection to a makeshift grave uncovered in a southeast Oklahoma City neighborhood. The Oklahoma Medical Examiner's Office conducted an hours-long dig and located a body in the backyard of a residence. The Oklahoma City Police Department confirmed a 22-year-old man was arrested on a first-degree complaint. KOCO 5 chose not to name the suspect since he hasn't been formally charged. Officers investigated the home, where they said they found evidence that led them to believe a crime had been committed there. Police said people called 911 saying they saw a homicide. Investigators were interviewing the witnesses about what they saw. "Police followed up on that tip, went to that residence, secured it, believe a crime had been committed there in the residence. Police were also given a tip that there was a deceased person there on the property, and also followed up on that. Began excavating in the backyard of that residence," said Msgt. Dillon Quirk with the Oklahoma City Police Department.
