10 a.m. Sunday Update: KOCO 5 Meteorologist Taylor Cox says we've already seen a few showers this morning, and it'll continue into the early afternoon hours. Those showers could bring an isolated thunderstorm, but it shouldn't be severe.
The severe weather threat starts around 3-5 p.m. in western Oklahoma, and scattered to isolated thunderstorms will track east through the evening hours. Storms are expected in the Oklahoma City metro and across Interstate 35 from 6-9 p.m. before moving to the eastern part of the state.
The storms could produce 70 mph winds and golf ball-sized hail, and the risk for tornadoes and flooding is low.
Taylor says areas ranging from near Lawton to Woodward, Alva, Enid, Ponca City and the edges of Stillwater and Oklahoma City have a tornado index of a 4 out of 10. Surrounding areas have a risk of a 2 out of 10.
Northwestern and northern-central Oklahoma also have a risk of damaging winds between 60-70 mph. Much of the rest of the state could get 50-60 mph winds.
