The Oklahoma County Detention Center has reported a detainee death overnight.
This is the second detainee death since Friday and the fifth reported death this year. Frank Ramirez was discovered in his cell "in distress."
Shortly after, officials began life-saving measures, but Ramirez died at a nearby hospital just before 9:45 p.m. Saturday night.
Ramirez was booked into the detention center in August 2021. The state’s medical examiner is working to release an official cause of death and the investigation is ongoing.
