An Oklahoma County Detention Center inmate died after she was found unresponsive in her cell Friday morning.
Around 6 a.m., a detention officer found inmate Courtenay Doyle, 37, unresponsive in her cell, according to a news release. The officer called for medical staff, and they started life-saving measures.
EMSA and Oklahoma City Fire Department personnel arrived and continued the efforts, and Doyle was taken to an area hospital. Authorities said she was pronounced dead around 7:15 a.m.
Doyle was booked into the Oklahoma County Detention Center on March 13 on counts of trafficking illegal drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia after being arrested by Bethany police.
Online records show that Doyle was in court on Thursday.
The State Medical Examiner's Office will determine the cause of death. An investigation is underway.
