IMPACT. ONE OF THE THINGS THAT I WANTED TO SHOW YOU ABOUT THE PERSPECTIVE HERE IN ROLLING FORK IS WHAT HAPPENS IN AN EF FOUR OR EF FIVE TORNADO. WHAT’S THE DIFFERENCE? WELL, WHEN THE WINDS GO OVER 165 MILES PER HOUR, LOOK WHAT HAPPENS TO SOME TREES. THAT’S A 100 FOOT TALL TREE. AT LEAST THAT’S BEEN RIPPED OUT OF THE GROUND. AND WE SEE THE WHOLE ROOT BALL SHOWING. BUT LOOK AT THESE OTHER TREES. NO, THEY’RE NOT RIPPED OUT OF THE GROUND. BUT MY GOODNESS, WHAT KIND OF A WIND DOES IT TAKE TO DO THAT? THIS TREE IS BASICALLY BEEN SKINNED ALIVE. THE BARK RIPPED RIGHT OFF OF IT. AND BECAUSE OF THE INTENSITY OF THOSE WINDS, LOOK WHAT HAPPENS TO VEHICLES. THAT’S A TOYOTA. BUT I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT MODEL OF TOYOTA THAT IS. ALL THE WINDOWS BLOWN OUT. THAT’S WHY WE ALWAYS SAY DON’T TRY TO RIDE OUT A TORNADO IN A CAR AND BE IN A SAFE SPOT. BE IN THE MIDDLE PART OF THE HOUSE. LOWEST LEVEL, SMALLEST FIRM OR IN A TORNADO SHELTER OR AN UNDERGROUND SHELTER. THE DAMAGE IS TRULY DEVASTATING HERE IN ROLLIN
