Jonathan Conder
MeteorologistFirst Alert Meteorologist Jonathan Conder forecasts weekday mornings on KOCO 5 News with co-anchors Shelby Cashman and Alejandra Briones. He also uses his severe weather expertise to track storms on First Alert Doppler radar during severe weather coverage with Chief Meteorologist Damon Lane. Before joining KOCO 5, Conder served as Chief Meteorologist for WANE-TV (CBS) in Ft. Wayne, Indiana, and as Meteorologist at Oklahoma City’s KFOR for 5 years.
The KOCO 5 First Alert Weather team is independently certified as delivering the most accurate forecast in Oklahoma City by WeatheRate, an independent scientific organization that measures accuracy in weather forecasts across the country.
Conder is an Emmy Award winning meteorologist and holds the CBM seal from the American Meteorological Society, their highest-level professional certification. He has been honored for his weather forecasting and coverage with an Oklahoma Associated Press First Place Award for Weather Event Coverage and a Society of Professional Journalists First Place Award for Television Weather Reporting and with an Emmy Award for his weather coverage.
Conder is a pilot and proud veteran of the Air National Guard. He was named 1999 Air National Guard Transportation Airman of the Year for his military service.
When he isn’t forecasting Oklahoma Weather or tracking severe storms, Conder enjoys lightning photography, water skiing, camping, fishing and off-roading in his Jeep Wrangler. Conder lives with his wife and their two sons in Piedmont, OK.
