Joseph Neubauer

Meteorologist

Meteorologist Joseph Neubauer serves as weekend morning meteorologist for the KOCO 5 First Alert weather team. Neubauer joined KOCO 5 from WEAR Pensacola, Florida, where he forecast for northwest Florida and southwest Alabama as weekend meteorologist and reported on weekdays as a science reporter. At WEAR, he covered the historic 2020 Atlantic hurricane season, including a direct hit from Hurricane Sally with 24 hours of live coverage. The Gulf Coast was no stranger to severe weather as well. May 2024 included a nighttime EF-2 tornado that impacted one of the largest counties in the viewing area.

Prior to WEAR, Neubauer worked at KOSA in Odessa, Texas, where he forecast for west Texas as weekend meteorologist. Working at KOSA included everything from tornadoes and softball-sized hail to feet of snow. It had it all. Joseph graduated from Texas A&M University with a Bachelor of Science in Meteorology & a minor in Mathematics.

A Dallas native, Joseph's passion for weather started at a young age as spring storms moved in every year across North Texas. A fear of weather as a child blossomed into a passion to understand how the weather works. Today, he loves to express this passion for weather with the viewers of one of the busiest weather markets in the world.

When Joseph is not covering Oklahoma's weather, he loves to explore the community and everything it has to offer. Got a food recommendation? Don't hesitate to let him know! Joseph is also a lover of coffee and never misses an opportunity to talk sports.
