Court documents: Man accused in Del City double homicide was upset employee was fired
Court documents say a man arrested in connection with a double homicide at a Del City laundromat was upset that an employee had recently been fired.
An employee at the Laundry Station near Southeast 15th Street and Sunnylane Road told investigators that Roshaun Jones told her he was not happy that one of the victims, Nekia Jackson, had fired a certain employee, according to court documents. The conversation happened Jan. 20, just three days before the deadly shooting.
Jones was at the laundromat a lot to sell bootleg movies and CDs, the court documents said.
The woman told officers that Jones said "it was not right that she had been fired and it was messed up how Nekia treated her," according to the documents. He then told the employee that "maybe he should rob this place."
She told him that the store didn't have any money to rob "because this is a laundry mat."
Jones went to The Laundry Station on Jan. 23 and attacked Jackson during an armed robbery, and a customer -- Russ Roberts -- tried to help her, the documents said. Jones shot Roberts and Jackson multiple times before he fled.
Jones, 33, was taken into custody shortly before 3 p.m. Friday at a home near 15th Street and Sooner Road in Midwest City. He was booked into the Oklahoma County Jail on complaints of first-degree murder.
A GoFundMe page has been set up for Jackson's memorial fund.
