Mildred Kirschenbaum's daughter posted a video to Instagram on her mother's 99th birthday that went viral and since then has been sharing Mildred's advice to her more than 115,000 followers.
“I cannot believe it," Mildred quipped in the original 2022 video. "That I am 99 and still have all my marbles.”
That video has nearly 50,000 likes now and sparked this "grandfluencer's" next chapter.
“She has an iPhone, an iPad and a computer," said Mildred's daughter, Gayle. "She is really tech savvy.”
On the Instagram account, people would ask for Mildred's advice, her morning routine and recipes.
Eventually, some even started asking for a book, which she and Gayle released earlier this year.
Mildred still lives on her own in Boca Raton and drives herself in a new car.
She said the secret to life is "not sweating the small stuff," but she also keeps a packed social calendar.
“Tuesday and Thursday, I play mahjong," she said. "Wednesday, I play canasta, and Friday, I play a game you’ve never heard of. It’s called pan; like a frying pan. Saturday morning, we play bridge from 10 to 12, and then we go down for Bloody Marys and share a tuna sandwich.”
Every day at happy hour, Mildred toasts to health in honor of her late son, who she lost to cancer.
"Without health, you can hang up your wealth,” she said.
Gayle and Mildred are on a South Florida book tour for "Mildred’s Mindset: Wisdom from a Woman Centenarian."
