Authorities announced that Lt. Brian Fugate, who served the Oklahoma Highway Patrol for 18 years, died on Sunday. He served his home county of Atoka and the surrounding communities.
"It is with the heaviest of hearts that we announce the passing of Lieutenant Brian Fugate," Oklahoma Highway Patrol officials posted on social media. "Lieutenant Fugate passed away on September 1 after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer."
