SOMEONE WHO LIVED RIGHT DOWN THE STREET FROM WHERE IT ALL HAPPENED. DAKOTA. YEAH. OLIVIA ROBERTS IS A COLLEGE STUDENT. HER FAMILY HAS LIVED INSIDE THE WOOD CREEK NEIGHBORHOOD FOR AROUND THREE YEARS. AND LAST NIGHT INSIDE THAT NEIGHBORHOOD, EDMOND POLICE SHOT AND KILLED A MALE SUSPECT AFTER RECEIVING A SUSPICIOUS PERSON CALL. NOW, ROBERTS SAYS IT IS THE CRAZIEST THING SHE’S EVER SEEN. I SAW SOME GUYS OVER ABOUT TWO HOUSES DOWN AND THEY’RE IN THE IN THE BACKYARD, AND THEY HAD FLASHLIGHTS, SO I HONESTLY COULDN’T EVEN TELL THAT THEY WERE POLICE AT FIRST. FRIDAY NIGHT, POLICE GOT A CALL FROM A WOOD CREEK RESIDENT SAYING SOMEONE WAS IN THEIR BACKYARD. THAT CALL COMING OUT AS A SUSPICIOUS PERSON. THE PERSON REPORTED THAT THEY SAW SOMEBODY IN THEIR BACKYARD THAT THEY DIDN’T BELIEVE HAD LEFT THE AREA. WHEN POLICE GOT THERE, THEY DIDN’T FIND THE SUSPICIOUS PERSON IN THE BACKYARD, BUT WAS ON THE BALCONY OF THE CALLER’S HOME. HE STOOD UP AND PRESENTED A FIREARM AND THEN GUNFIRE WAS EXCHANGED BETWEEN THE SUSPECT AND THE OFFICERS AND THEN THE SUSPECT WAS KILLED THERE BY OFFICERS AND PRONOUNCED AT THE SCENE. MOMENTS BEFORE THAT DEADLY SHOOTING, A NEIGHBOR SAW THE SCENE. I KIND OF HEARD THEM START YELLING LIKE, WHAT ARE YOU DOING UP THERE? GET DOWN! WHAT ARE YOU DOING UP THERE? AND THEN THEY STARTED SHOOTING. MANY OF THE NEIGHBORS HERE DIDN’T KNOW WHAT HAPPENED AT THE TIME, BUT ROBERTS WAS OUTSIDE HER HOME WALKING HER DOG, WHICH IS JUST DOWN THE STREET FROM THE SCENE. I RAN DOWN THERE AND HID FOR A COUPLE SECONDS UNTIL IT GOT QUIET, AND THEN I MADE MY WAY BACK TO MY HOUSE. THERE ARE ALSO OTHER PEOPLE OUTSIDE IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD AT THE TIME, BUT THANKFULLY THEY ARE ALL OKAY. THERE IS NO INJURIES TO ANYBODY ELSE. EDMOND POLICE SAY THEY TRIED TALKING TO THE MALE SUSPECT, BUT AFTER HE BROUGHT OUT A GUN, THINGS CHANGED AND IT CHANGED ROBERTS FOR THE REST OF THE NIGHT. I RAN AND WENT INSIDE AND WAS CRYING TO MY MOM ABOUT IT. AND IT KIND OF. I COULDN’T SIT STILL AND HAD A LOT OF STRESS AND ANXIETY GOING ON. AND MUCH OF THIS IS STILL UNDER INVESTIGATION BY POLICE. THAT’S SOMETHING WE’RE LOOKING AT RIGHT NOW JUST TO DETERMINE THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN THE PERSON THAT CALLED US AND THEN THE SUSPECT TRYING TO DO RIGHT NOW IS PIECE TOGETHER WHAT HAPPENED. WHAT LED THIS PERSON TO COME TO THE RESIDENCE AND DETERMINE ANYTHING ELSE THAT MAY HAVE HAPPENED? NOW, THE OFFICERS INVOLVED IN THIS SHOOTING ARE UNDER ADMINISTRATIVE LEAVE WHILE THE INVESTIGATION HAPPENS. AND WE TRIED TALKING TO THE RESIDENTS OF THE HOUSE WHERE THIS ALL HAPPENED. THEY WERE VERY EMOTIONAL CLEANING UP WHAT WAS LEFT. NOW THIS IS DEVELOPING AS WE LEARN MORE, WE’LL BRING YOU T
