On Tuesday, a 75-year-old woman told police that a 58-year-old man forced his way into her home, bound her hands and feet and tied her to a chair. Police said in a news release that the suspect then used the victim's vehicle to try to withdraw money from her bank account.
The attempt was unsuccessful, so police said the suspect untied the woman and forced her to ride with him to the bank to withdraw money. Norman police said the woman had hired the suspect previously to complete several projects at her home.
Officers with the Norman Police Department's Special Investigations Section arrested the suspect without incident on Thursday. He was booked into the Cleveland County Detention Center on complaints of kidnapping, first-degree burglary and robbery.
KOCO 5 has not released the suspect's name because formal charges have not been filed.
