BACK AT THE END OF JUNE, TWO KIDS FOUR AND SIX YEARS OLD WERE SAVED BY LIFEGUARDS AT WILL ROGERS AQUATIC CENTER. THOSE KIDS WERE SEEN MOTIONLESS UNDERWATER WITH THE ASSISTANCE OF A PATRON IN THE WATER. THAT LIFEGUARD AND ONE OF OUR OTHER HEAD LIFEGUARDS WERE ABLE TO EVACUATE THOSE TWO OUT OF THE WATER. A POLICE REPORT SAYS IT WAS INITIALLY A DROWNING CALL. A TENSE SITUATION FOR PARENTS AND POOL STAFF. THE YOUNG GIRL I BELIEVE WE WE DID HAVE TO GIVE SOME RESUSCITATION BREATHS TO AND AND WE WERE ABLE TO KIND OF GET THAT WATER OUT OF HER SYSTEM AND BRING HER BACK. NEW THIS WEEK WE’VE LEARNED THE MOTHER OF ONE OF THOSE KIDS WAS ARRESTED WEDNESDAY. SHE’S ALSO THE AUNT OF THE OTHER CHILD. ACCORDING TO A PROBABLE CAUSE AFFIDAVIT, A WITNESS TOLD OFFICERS AT THE SCENE THIS WOMAN WAS SEEN HOLDING THE KIDS UNDERWATER WHILE SEVERAL PEOPLE YELLED AT HER. BUT IT’S NOT CLEAR HOW LONG THEY WENT WITHOUT AIR. AND TWO MINUTES IS KIND OF THAT THAT KIND OF POINT OF NO RETURN, ALMOST WHERE YOU REALLY WANT TO GET THEM BACK. IN THE AFFIDAVIT, IT SAYS ONE OF THE VICTIMS, THE SUSPECT’S DAUGHTER, WAS INTERVIEWED BY POLICE THIS WEEK. He had been on the job for four weeks when it happened. After being interviewed by police on Wednesday, “the defendant was adamant this was something she did not do.
