NOW, BOTH OF HER PARENTS HAVE BEEN OFFICIALLY CHARGED. HERE’S WHAT WE KNOW TONIGHT. ACCORDING TO NEW COURT DOCUMENTS, THE FATHER, ANTHONY YONKO, AND THE GIRLS MOM, LISA MITCHELL, ARE FACING SECOND DEGREE MURDER CHARGES. NOW, BACK ON AUGUST 2ND, AN OFFICER WITH THE MIDWEST CITY POLICE DEPARTMENT WAS CALLED TO SAINT ANTHONY’S NEAR RENO AND MIDWEST BOULEVARD. AT THAT HOSPITAL, DOCTORS TOLD THE OFFICER THE SEVEN YEAR OLD GIRL DISPLAYED SIGNS OF RIGOR MORTIS AND HAD POSSIBLE INTERNAL AND EXTERNAL INJURIES. THE OFFICER SAID. THE GIRL WAS EXTREMELY MALNOURISHED AND ONLY WEIGHED ABOUT 25 POUNDS. SHE WAS ALSO ONLY 37IN TALL, ACCORDING TO THE CDC. A NORMAL WEIGHT FOR A CHILD IN THAT AGE RANGE IS ABOUT 37 TO 60 POUNDS. I WISH I COULD HAVE DONE SOMETHING. I WISH SOMEBODY KNEW SOMETHING. IT LOOKED DISTURBED, THOUGH, FOR ME, TO ME, BECAUSE EVERYBODY WAS WALKING WITH THEIR HEADS DOWN. He claimed he woke that morning and was alerted by Lisa Mitchell, the girl’s mother, that the child was not moving, was sick and needed to be taken to the hospital, according to the affidavit.After being arrested, Yonko told police that the girl weighed 50 pounds four or five days ago and was “completely healthy.” The officer stated Yonko could not give an explanation why she weighed 25 pounds and was very unhealthy at the hospital, according to the affidavit.Oklahoma County Court records show both Yonko and Mitchell have been charged on one count of second-degree murder of a child.
