BREAKING NEWS IS HAPPENING NOW. BREAKING RIGHT NOW. A PLANE GOES DOWN NORTH OF THE METRO AND YOU SEE THE WRECKAGE RIGHT HERE. WE’RE TOLD THE PILOT IS OKAY. KOCO JASON BERGER ON THE SCENE FOR US LIVE TONIGHT AT SEWARD AND MIDWEST BOULEVARD. JASON, I UNDERSTAND THERE ARE SEVERAL LAW ENFORCEMENT GROUPS OUT THERE WITH YOU TONIGHT. THAT’S RIGHT. I’M HERE OFF OF SEWARD ROAD AND IF YOU LOOK THIS WAY, YOU CAN ACTUALLY SEE WHERE THAT PLANE CRASHED BACK IN THE WOODS. THEY’VE TAPED OFF THE MAIN ACCESS POINT. NOW, NOT ONLY DID THIS PILOT SURVIVE THE CRASH, I’M TOLD HE EVEN REFUSED MEDICAL TREATMENT HERE AT THE SCENE. NOW, HERE’S WHAT OHP IS TELLING US TONIGHT. THIS PLANE WENT DOWN NOT FAR FROM SEWARD ROAD AND MIDWEST BOULEVARD HERE IN LOGAN COUNTY. IT’S JUST EAST OF I-35. WE’RE TOLD THE PILOT WAS THE ONLY PERSON IN THE PLANE, AND HE WAS ABLE TO WALK AWAY FROM THE CRASH. NOW, FROM WHAT WE CAN SEE FROM THE ROAD HERE, THIS IS A SMALL PLANE THAT ONLY SEATS ONE PERSON. WE’RE TOLD LESS THAN A TEN MINUTE DRIVE AWAY FROM THE GUTHRIE EDMOND REGIONAL AIRPORT. NOW THAT’S REALLY ALL THE DETAILS THAT OHP IS GIVING US RIGHT NOW. A FURTHER INVESTIGATION WILL DETERMINE WHAT ACTUALLY CAUSED THIS CRASH. I’M TOLD LOGAN COUNTY WILL BE THE LEAD AGENCY, SO WE’RE HOPING TO FIND

The Logan County Sheriff’s Office reported that the pilot was able to get out of the plane and was checked out by paramedics but did not require being taken to a hospital for treatment. The pilot was the only occupant of the plane.
