POLICE WERE LOOKING FOR ANSWERS BACK ON JULY 10TH, KOCO CAMERAS WERE ROLLING AT THE EXECUTIVE INN OFF I-35 SERVICE ROAD AS POLICE INVESTIGATED A HOMICIDE. THE VICTIM ID’D AS 34 YEAR OLD ISAIAH VERA. BUT NEW THIS WEEK, COURT DOCUMENTS SAY THIS ALL STARTED THE DAY BEFORE THE MURDER, WHEN TWO OF THE SUSPECTS CARJACKED A WOMAN AT GUNPOINT AT A SONIC DRIVE IN OFF NORTHWEST EXPRESSWAY NEAR NORTH MAY. THEY STOLE A NISSAN PATHFINDER, THE NEXT DAY, JULY 10TH, ONE OF THE SUSPECTS WAS SEEN ON VIDEO GOING TO A ROOM WITH THE VICTIM. THE DOCUMENTS SAY THAT SAME STOLEN PATHFINDER WAS SEEN ON VIDEO FOOTAGE AT THE EXECUTIVE INN, AND THREE OF THE MALE SUSPECTS GOT OUT OF THE CAR AND WENT TO THE SAME MOTEL ROOM. IT WASN’T LONG BEFORE ISAIAH VERA, THE VICTIM, WAS SEEN RUNNING OUT OF THE ROOM BLEEDING, AND FOUR SUSPECTS RAN BACK TO THE PATHFINDER AND TOOK OFF. I DO KNOW THAT IT WAS JUST ONE VICTIM THAT WAS STRUCK BY THE GUNFIRE. THE SUSPECTS FLED THE SCENE, SO AGAIN, WE DON’T HAVE ANYBODY IN CUSTODY. THAT SAME NIGHT, ANOTHER STOLEN CAR LED POLICE ON A PURSUIT, STARTING AT THIS MICROTEL INN AND SUITES ON SOUTH MACARTHUR. THE CHASE ENDED WHEN THE DRIVER CRASHED IN THE MUSTANG AREA, BUT THE SAME STOLEN NISSAN PATHFINDER INVOLVED IN THE SHOOTING WAS FOUND AT THE MICROTEL, WHERE THE PURSUIT STARTED. NOW, ON JULY 11TH, COURT DOCUMENTS SAY OCPD OFFICERS FOUND FOUR OF THE FIVE SUSPECTS AT THIS MOTEL SIX OFF SOUTHEAST 44TH. THEY WERE TAKEN INTO CUSTODY WHERE THE STOLEN PATHFINDER SAT
