The throwback alternate uniforms are crimson jerseys with white numerals, white tri-stripes on the shoulders and the SEC and Jordan Brand patches. They also include crimson striping on the sides of the white pants and a logo-free helmet.
Wilkinson compiled a 145-29-4 record during his time as the Sooners' head coach from 1947-63. He led OU to 47 straight wins from the 1953-57 season, which still marks the longest winning stream in FBS history.
Under Wilkinson, the Sooners won Associated Press national titles in 1950, 1955 and 1956.
OU's uniforms represent the ones worn from 1946-56 and closely resemble the "Sooner Legacy" uniform players wore during a 37-3 win over North Texas in 2003.
The Sooners will wear the throwback uniforms during the Sept. 7 home game against Houston, which kicks off at 6:45 p.m. and will air on the SEC Network. During the game, OU will spotlight the Wilkinson era during the 100th-year celebration of Gaylord Family-Oklahoma Memorial Stadium.
Replica versions of the alternate jerseys are available at the team shop and online.
