WITHIN THE HOUR. YEAH GUYS. THAT’S RIGHT. I’D ESTIMATE ABOUT 2 OR 3 DOZEN FIRST RESPONDER VEHICLES WERE PART OF THIS PROCESSION FROM TULSA. THEY ALL ENDED HERE AT FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME IN CHICKASHA. NOW, THIS WAS QUITE THE TASK BECAUSE MIKE WAS SUPPOSED TO BE HOME ALREADY. COMMUNITIES HURTING WITH WITH THE LOSS OF MIKE. YOU KNOW, BECAUSE HE MEANT SO MUCH TO SO MANY PEOPLE. THESE PICTURES CAPTURED THE MOMENTS MIKE WISE WAS TAKEN OFF THE PLANE IN TULSA. HIS FELLOW FIREFIGHTERS WAITING TO ESCORT HIM BACK TO CHICKASHA IN JULY, LONG-TIME FIREFIGHTER MIKE WISE DIED UNEXPECTEDLY FROM A MEDICAL EMERGENCY WHILE ON A FAMILY TRIP TO JAMAICA, AND SINCE THEN, HIS WIFE AND FAMILY HAVE BEEN TRYING TO GET HIM BACK HOME. I’M TOLD THERE WERE HOLDUPS IN JAMAICA, ALONG WITH FLIGHT DELAYS AND CANCELLATIONS HERE IN AMERICA, CAUSING HIM TO GET HOME LATER THAN EXPECTED. BUT IN THE MEANTIME, CHICKASHA LOCALS HAD NOTHING BUT GOOD THINGS TO SAY ABOUT MIKE. THE FRONT SAYS LIVE LIKE MIKE AND LIKE I SAID, HE WAS A GIVER. HE WAS KIND. HE WAS FUNNY. LAST MONTH, LOCAL BUSINESSES STARTED AN EFFORT TO RAISE MONEY FOR MIKE’S FAMILY, MAKING T SHIRTS AND EVEN RESTAURANT SPECIALS IN MIKE’S HONOR. I KNOW THIS IS SOMETHING HE WOULD BE STEPPING UP IN HERE DOING FOR SOMEONE ELSE. AN AIR FORCE VETERAN AND A FIREFIGHTER, HIS OBITUARY READS IN PART. HE WAS ALWAYS A JOKESTER AND LOVED TO TELL DAD JOKES. HE HAD A CONTAGIOUS LAUGH AND NEVER MET A STRANGER HE COULD TALK TO ANYONE. HE WAS A LOVING DAD WITH A STRONG CHARACTER AND THE MOST DEPENDABLE AND SELFLESS MAN. AND MIKE WISE WORKED FOR THE CHICKASHA FIRE DEPARTMENT SINCE 2013.
