YEAH, THAT NEW ARREST AFFIDAVIT SAYS THAT 71 YEAR OLD MERLE SOUTHWICK WAS MURDERED IN HIS HOME DAYS BEFORE HIS BROTHER WENT TO PICK HIM UP FOR CHURCH AND FOUND HIM SHOT TO DEATH. HE’S ALWAYS BEEN WITH ME, AND I DON’T KNOW WHAT I’M GOING TO DO NOW, A HEARTBROKEN FAMILY NOW FINDING ANSWERS AFTER A MAN WAS ARRESTED IN COLORADO FOR ALLEGEDLY MURDERING AN OKC MAN, 71 YEAR OLD MERLE SOUTHWICK. THIS ARREST AFFIDAVIT CLAIMS THE 64 YEAR OLD SUSPECT LIVED WITH SOUTHWICK IN THIS HOME NEAR SOUTHEAST 66TH AND SHIELDS. POLICE SAY SOUTHWICK WAS FOUND DEAD BY HIS BROTHER SUNDAY, BUT THERE WERE NO SIGNS OF FORCED ENTRY OR THE HOUSE BEING RANSACKED. THE DOCUMENT SAYS A GUN WAS MISSING FROM THE HOUSE. PLUS, POLICE SAY SOUTHWICK WAS KILLED DAYS BEFORE HIS BODY WAS FOUND. POLICE SAY SOUTHWICK’S CAR WAS RECENTLY TRANSFERRED TO HIS ROOMMATE’S NAME, AND THE ROOMMATE ALLEGEDLY SOLD SOUTHWICK’S MOTORCYCLE TO A PAWN SHOP JUST DAYS BEFORE HIS BODY WAS FOUND. An arrest affidavit said Merle Southwick, 71, was murdered in his home days before his brother went to pick him up for church and discovered his body on Sunday.

“He’s always been with me, and I don’t know what I’m going to do now,” said Stan Southwick, the victim’s brother.

A heartbroken family is now finding out some answers to their loved one’s killing. The 64-year-old suspect lived with Merle Southwick in the home near Southeast 66th Street and Shields Boulevard, according to the affidavit.

Police said there were no signs of forced entry or the house being ransacked after officers arrived, but a gun was missing from the home, according to the affidavit.
