Police responded to a shooting that left one person dead in southwest Oklahoma City on Sunday night.

At around 8:25 p.m., a person was shot near Southwest 22nd Street and South Harvey Avenue. A suspect fled the scene, according to the Oklahoma City Police Department.
Police later confirmed that the victim died as a result of the shooting. The Oklahoma City Police Department has not released the victim's name because next-of-kin notification is pending.
According to police, investigators learned the victim and suspect were involved in an altercation before the shooting.
