Gymnast Simone Biles returned to action today after experiencing pain during her warm-up for the floor exercise routine.
Biles was heard discussing calf pain after her warm-up. This appears to be a recurring injury.
"A couple weeks ago she felt, you know, but after it stopped and then just a little bit again today," said Cecile Landi, Team USA Gymnastics Head Coach.
Biles received attention from the team doctor and had her leg wrapped.
Biles not only returned to compete in the floor routine but also posted the highest score.
She repeated the feat in the vault and also performed her routine on the bars.
Biles dealt with the "twisties" during the Tokyo games, which left her unable to safely compete when she couldn't place herself while in the air. She described it as a mental injury.
There are more qualifications tonight ahead of the team final on Tuesday.
