AT TEN. ONE PERSON IS DEAD AFTER A CRASH IN GUTHRIE. THANKS FOR JOINING US TONIGHT, I’M CHANTELLE NAVARRO. THE SCENE IS NEAR HIGHWAY 74, NEAR TRIPLETT ROAD. AND WE KNOW ROADS ARE BLOCKED IN THE AREA RIGHT NOW AS OKLAHOMA HIGHWAY PATROL INVESTIGATES. KOCO DAKOTA KAI IS LIVE FOR US THERE TONIGHT. DAKOTA, WHAT HAVE YOU LEARNED SO FAR FROM INVESTIGATORS? YEAH, CREWS ARE RESPONDING TO THIS WRECK THAT YOU CAN SEE BACK THERE. THERE ARE SEVERAL POLICE LIGHTS GOING ON, AND AT LEAST THERE ARE LOGAN COUNTY SHERIFF DEPUTIES WORKING THIS ALONGSIDE STATE TROOPERS. CRESCENT POLICE AND MOORE. NOW THIS IS ALL JUST A COUPLE MILES SOUTH OF THE HIGHWAY 33 AND HIGHWAY 74 INTERSECTION, AND TONIGHT, OHP CONFIRMS AT LEAST ONE PERSON IS DEAD IN THIS WRECK. NOW THEY SAY THIS IS A MULTICAR CRASH AND FOUR OTHER PEOPLE ARE INVOLVED WITH THIS. NOW OHP SAYS THEY ARE INJURED BUT ARE EXPECTED TO BE OKAY. NOW, WE’VE SEEN THE MEDICAL EXAMINER’S OFFICE DRIVE INTO THE SCENE UP HERE, BUT THIS MULTICAR CRASH IS IMPACTING MANY. AND AS WE GOT HERE, THERE WERE 20 CARS BACKED UP BECAUSE YOU CAN SEE ON THE GROUND RIGHT NOW, THERE ARE JUST A TON OF DIRT TRACKS. THESE CARS REALLY DON’T HAVE ANYWHERE TO TURN AROUND BECAUSE IT IS A VERY RURAL AROUND HERE WITH ROADS THAT ARE WASHED OUT BY THE RAIN THAT CAME THROUGH THIS MORNING AND SOME SPRINKLES THIS AFTERNOON. One person was pronounced dead on the scene, and four others were injured, according to Oklahoma Highway Patrol. The four people hurt were transported to hospitals in stable condition, according to OHP. Highway 74 was closed between Seward Road and Oklahoma Highway 33. Multiple agencies, including OHP, the Logan County Sheriff's Office and the Guthrie Fire Department, were responding to the scene. The medical examiner was also on the scene. Just after 7 p.m., several cars were involved in a collision near State Highway 74 and Triplett Road, just southwest of Guthrie. One person was pronounced dead on the scene, and four others were injured, according to Oklahoma Highway Patrol.
The four people hurt were transported to hospitals in stable condition, according to OHP.
Highway 74 was closed between Seward Road and Oklahoma Highway 33.
