WHAT DO WE KNOW FROM POLICE? SO FAR? KYLIE WE KNOW IT HAPPENED WHEN A 13 YEAR OLD WAS AT A SLEEPOVER IN A HOME IN THIS NORTHWEST OKLAHOMA CITY NEIGHBORHOOD. NOW, WHILE POLICE ARE STILL TRYING TO PIECE TOGETHER WHAT EXACTLY HAPPENED, THEY SAY SO FAR, NO ARRESTS HAVE BEEN MADE. IT HURTS MY HEART TO HEAR ABOUT A CHILD DYING FROM SOMETHING LIKE THAT. THIS WAS THE SCENE AROUND TWO IN THE MORNING MONDAY, WHEN POLICE WERE CALLED TO A HOME NEAR NORTHWEST 1/22 AND PIN. WHEN OFFICERS ARRIVED, THEY FOUND A 13 YEAR OLD GIRL THERE WHO HAD WHO WAS SUFFERING FROM A GUNSHOT WOUND. POLICE SAY THE 13 YEAR-OLD AMANI YOUNG WAS AT A FRIEND’S HOUSE WHEN SHE WAS SHOT, BUT IT’S UNCLEAR WHO FIRED THAT WEAPON OR WHY THE TEEN WAS SHOT. WE KNOW THERE WERE A NUMBER OF PEOPLE THERE AT THE RESIDENCE WHEN THE SHOOTING OCCURRED. YOUNG WAS TAKEN TO THE HOSPITAL WHERE SHE LATER DIED. POLICE SAY THEY INTERVIEWED EVERYONE INVOLVED IN THE INCIDENT AND WITNESSES, BUT NO ARRESTS HAVE BEEN MADE. WE’RE STILL TRYING TO PIECE TOGETHER EXACTLY WHAT LED UP TO HER BEING SHOT. Police said they are still working to piece together what exactly happened at a home near Northwest 122nd Street and Pennsylvania Avenue.
