A 13-year-old girl died after a shooting during a sleepover early Monday morning at a northwest Oklahoma City home.
Police said they are still working to piece together what exactly happened at a home near Northwest 122nd Street and Pennsylvania Avenue.
"It hurts my heart to hear about a child dying from something like that," Jeffrey Asberry, who lives in the neighborhood, said.
Police responded to the home around 1:40 a.m. on Monday, finding a 13-year-old shooting victim at the scene.
"When officers arrived, they found a 13-year-old girl there who was suffering from a gunshot wound," MSgt. Gary Knight said.
The 13-year-old, identified as A'Moni Young, was at a friend's house when she was shot, according to police. It's unclear who fired the weapon or why the teen was shot.
"We know there were a number of people there at the residence when the shooting occurred," Knight said.

Young was taken to OU Health, where she later died. Police said they interviewed everyone involved in the incident as well as witnesses, but no arrests have been made.
"We're still trying to piece together what led up to her being shot," Knight said.
