Rossen Reports: Three tricks you didn't know your iPhone could do
Your iPhone can do many tricks to make your life easier – some you may not even realize. Try these three tricks the next time you’re playing with your phone.
Identify plants and animals
Open your camera app and photograph whatever you want to identify. Then open that photo and click the Info button at the bottom of the screen. It looks like a lowercase “i” in a circle with some stars around it. Now click Look Up – and it will identify what you took a picture of.
Copy and translate text
Open the camera app and point it at whatever text you want to copy.
A yellow box should come up around it - and there should be a smaller box in the corner with three lines.
Click on that and it'll give you options to copy, look up, or translate that text to another language.
You can also do this with photos you've already taken by highlighting the text.
Turn your iPhone into a white noise machine
Go into your settings, click Accessibility, then Audio and Visual, and turn background sounds on. From there you can choose between different settings like ocean sounds, streams, and rain.
Go to your settings and then click on the accessibility section. After that, go to the audio and visual option and then turn background sounds on to choose different settings like ocean sounds and rain.
