LATEST FIRST ALERT FORECAST. EVERYBODY, WELCOME INTO THE SHOW. TONIGHT I AM BRIAN KEATING ALONGSIDE HANNAH HOOVER. IT IS TIME. TIME FOR CRASHING THE BOARDS ON. YOU KNOW WHAT? WE HAVE A HUGE SHOW TONIGHT BECAUSE WE HAD A TRADE BY THE OKLAHOMA CITY THUNDER. JOSH GIDDEY OUT ALEX CARUSO WIN. WE WILL GET INTO THAT IN A MINUTE. BUT I THINK THE HEADLINE CERTAINLY OF THE WEEKEND WAS THAT THE OLYMPICS THE OLYMPICS GET BIGGER THAN THAT. NO I MEAN THEY’RE COMING TO OKLAHOMA CITY. AND THAT WAS ANNOUNCED. SO WE WILL HAVE TWO EVENTS IN 2028. THE CANOE SLALOM AND SOFTBALL, OF COURSE, BECAUSE WE GOT THE AWESOME FACILITY DOWN THE STREET. THE REASON THAT THE LOS ANGELES OLYMPICS, HANNAH SAID THAT WE’RE GETTING THE OLYMPICS IS BECAUSE THEY DIDN’T WANT TO BUILD THE STADIUMS, THEY DIDN’T WANT THE COST. AND SO LET’S HEAR FROM THE COMMITTEE IN LOS ANGELES. AND THIS IS HOW IT WAS ANNOUNCED ON FRIDAY. TO AVOID BUILDING A COSTLY SOFTBALL VENUE IN LA AND LEVERAGE THE BEST SOFTBALL VENUE IN THE COUNTRY, WE’RE VERY PLEASED TO HOST SOFTBALL IN OKLAHOMA CITY. WE PLAN TO USE EVEN MORE WORLD CLASS EXISTING VENUES TO CREATE GREATER COST, CERTAINTY AND LOWER FINANCIAL RISK FOR THE LA 28 GAMES, WHILE IMPROVING THE EXPERIENCE FOR ATHLETES AND FANS. SO LOOK, THEY’RE TRYING TO MAKE THIS MORE AFFORDABLE FOR THE CITY OF LOS ANGELES AND THE OLYMPIC COMMITTEE’S GOOD FOR US. IT’S AMAZING BECAUSE THE OLYMPICS ARE COMING TO OKLAHOMA CITY AND AND I WILL LET YOU GO FIRST ON THIS. THIS IS A FIRST FOR ME TALKING ABOUT THE OLYMPICS IN THE 405. BUT IT’S AWESOME. IT’S SO AWESOME. YEAH. 14 K CAN BE IN THE STANDS AT DAVENPORT. YEAH, YEAH. SO I’M JUST THINKING IS THERE GOING TO BE MORE THAN THAT? I THINK SO I MEAN, HOW MANY PEOPLE ARE COMING TO OKLAHOMA CITY AND HOW PACKED WILL IT BE? WE KNOW THIS IS A SOFTBALL CAPITAL OF THE WORLD. MAYBE THAT’S BIG TO SAY, BUT IT IS THE OLYMPICS, SO I CAN’T SAY THAT IT IS. AND SO THERE’S GOING TO BE A LOT OF PEOPLE THAT COME OUT AND GET REALLY EXCITED. WE’VE GOT A HUGE CROWD HERE IN OKLAHOMA WITH PEOPLE LIKE KINSEY HANSEN WHO ARE GOING TO BE ON TEAM USA. NO DOUBT. SO WHEN I HEARD ABOUT THIS LOOK, AS A KID GROWING UP IN OKLAHOMA CITY, UM, I COULD NEVER HAVE IMAGINED IN ANY WAY, SHAPE OR FORM THAT WE’D BE TALKING ABOUT THE OLYMPICS IN OKLAHOMA CITY. WE HAD AN OLYMPIC FESTIVAL WAY BACK IN THE 80S, AND I REMEMBER THIS BEING A KID, AND THAT WAS A BIG DEAL. IT’S NOWHERE NEAR THIS THING. SO WHAT DOES IT MEAN? BLC, WHICH IS BIG LEAGUE CITY? UM, IT’S KIND OF THE MEME THAT GOES AROUND ON SOCIAL MEDIA. BIG LEAGUE CITY, MAN. AND SO I DON’T KNOW, I JUST THINK IT’S SO COOL. DOESN’T MATTER. THE EVENTS. WE’RE GOING TO HAVE PEOPLE ALL OVER THE WORLD. WHEN YOU WATCH THE OLYMPICS AROUND THE WORLD AND YOU SEE THESE ESPECIALLY SOFTBALL, BECAUSE BECAUSE THE SOFTBALL HERE IN THAT STADIUM AND WE KNOW HOW THE WORLD SERIES GETS, IT IS RENOWNED AS I JUST THINK IT IS SO COOL. AND WHAT AN OPPORTUNITY FOR OKLAHOMA CITY. AND A BIG LEAGUE CITY MAN HERE OKC. AND IT’S COMING BACK THIS YEAR OR IN 2028. YES THEIR DEBUT. SO THAT’S A BIG DEAL AS WELL. YEP. SOFTBALL NOT IN THE OLYMPICS AND HADN’T BEEN IN THE OLYMPICS THE LAST COUPLE. NOT IN THE OLYMPICS HERE COMING UP. BUT WE’LL RETURN IN 28. WE GO RIGHT DOWN THE STREET HERE IN OKLAHOMA CITY. THE ONE LOOK, NOT EVERYONE IS JUST THRILLED ABOUT THE OLYMPICS HERE IN OKLAHOMA CITY. AND I GET IT. IF YOU’RE AN OLYMPIAN, YOU’RE A SOFTBALL OLYMPIAN. ESPECIALLY IF YOU PLAYED AT OU OR YOU’VE BEEN TO THE WORLD SERIES. YOU GO, I’VE DONE THAT. I’M GOING TO THE OLYMPICS AND WE’RE DOING IT IN OKLAHOMA CITY. SO YOU BROUGHT UP KINSEY HANSEN. THAT’S INTERESTING BECAUSE WE TALKED TO HER ON FRIDAY AND ASKED HER KIND OF ABOUT THE SENTIMENT AND THE FACT THAT THE OLYMPICS ARE GOING TO BE PLAYED AT AT DEVON PARK AT OLD HALL OF FAME STADIUM, ROLLING. THE FANS AND THE ATMOSPHERE THAT WE’RE ABLE TO CREATE HERE IN OKLAHOMA CITY IS JUST ASTOUNDING TO ME. I KNOW THAT SOME PEOPLE ARE MISSING OUT OR CLAIMING THAT WE MIGHT MISS OUT ON THE OLYMPIC VILLAGE, WHICH HAS BEEN A COMMENT GOING ON, BUT I REALLY HOPE THAT THEY’RE ABLE TO KIND OF CREATE A UNIQUE EXPERIENCE FOR US. SO I GET IT AGAIN, YOU WANT TO BE IN THE OLYMPICS, YOU WANT TO FEEL LIKE YOU’RE IN THE OLYMPICS. UM, BUT YOU ARE IN THE OLYMPICS. THEY’RE JUST PLAYING IT AT THE BEST SOFTBALL FACILITY IN THE WORLD, WHICH JUST HAPPENS TO BE HERE IN OKLAHOMA CITY. AND THERE’S TALK ABOUT THE VILLAGE RIGHT? BEING A PART OF THAT EXPERIENCE. I THINK KINSEY HANSEN MENTIONED IT, BUT ALSO THEY’RE GOING TO GET TO GO TO EITHER OPENER OR THE CLOSE OF THE OLYMPICS. SO THEY’RE NOT MISSING OUT. THEY’RE NOT GOING TO COMPLETELY MISS OUT ON THIS EXPERIENCE. IT’S JUST YOU KNOW, LIKE YOU SAID, THE BEST SOFTBALL FIELD IT IS IT’S THE BEST SOFTBALL. THIS HAPPENS TO BE HERE. KNOW THAT. AND THAT’S THE REASON IT’S HERE. THEY DIDN’T WANT TO HAVE TO BUILD AND REPLICATE THAT BECAUSE YOU CAN’T REPLICATE THAT. AND AND YOU KNOW WE HAVEN’T TALKED ENOUGH ABOUT RIVER SPORT OKC IN THE WORLD CLASS FACILITY THAT THAT IS JUST DOWN THE STREET. THEY’VE HAD UM OLYMPIC TRIALS AND OLYMPIC TRAINING. BUT I WOULD SAY FOR ALL THE SOFTBALL PLAYERS AND AGAIN, I UNDERSTAND. BUT JUST GO OUT THERE WIN GOLD JUST WIN BABY. THEY WILL SING THE NATIONAL ANTHEM AT THE STADIUM. JUST WIN. AND WHEN WHEN THE NATIONAL ANTHEM IS PLAYING AND YOU’VE GOT THE MEDAL AROUND YOUR NECK, DOESN’T MATTER WHERE YOU ARE, IT WON’T MATTER IF YOU WERE IN LOS ANGELES OR PARIS OR LONDON OR OKLAHOMA CITY. JUST WIN AND YOU WILL ALWAYS CONSIDER AND BE ABLE TO CALL YOURSELF AN OLYMPIC GOLD GOLD MEDALIST AND THOSE WILL BE GIVEN OUT HERE IN OKLAHO
