Authorities say two people died in a crash overnight along Interstate 44 in southwest Oklahoma City.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol told KOCO 5 that two people were in a vehicle on I-44 around 1 a.m. on Tuesday near the Southwest 29th exit when their car swerved and hit a light pole. The car then crashed and rolled over, according to officials.
The driver died at the scene. A witness helped the passenger out of the car before the passenger ran into the middle of I-44 and was hit by another car, Oklahoma Highway Patrol officials said.
The person driving the second car fled the area, and the woman died at the scene.
