Rossen Reports: More than 500k vehicles just got recalled, check here if your car is on the list
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has announced multiple recalls for hundreds of thousands of vehicles in just the last week or so. To know if your vehicle is under a recall, you can visit NHTSA.gov and check for recalls by searching your license plate number or Vehicle Identification Number (VIN).
Here are some of the latest recalls:
Tesla
Tesla is recalling 125,227 vehicles due to a seat belt issue. The recall affects the following vehicles:
- 2012-2024 Tesla Model S
- 2016-2024 Tesla Model X
- 2017-2023 Tesla Model 3
- 2020-2023 Tesla Model Y
The NHTSA report says the seat belt warning light and audible reminder signal may fail to alert the driver that their seat belt isn’t fastened, which could increase the risk of injury in a crash. Tesla says it will notify affected drivers and release an over-the-air software update to correct the issue.
Honda
Honda is recalling 114,686 of its previously recalled 2018-2020 Honda Fit and 2019-2022 Honda HR-V SUVs. The NHTSA report says the rearview camera image may not display when the engine is started with a key, due to a design error in the audio display power circuit. Dealers will update the display audio unit software, free of charge.FordFord is recalling 109,283 of its 2020-2024 Lincoln Aviator vehicles. The NHTSA report says that cell phone radio frequency transmissions can interfere with the rearview video display. Drivers will be notified by mail to take their vehicle to a Ford or Lincoln dealer to fix the issue free of charge.
Toyota
Toyota is recalling 102,092 of its 2022-2023 Tundra and Lexus LX600 vehicles equipped with a V35A engine. The NHTSA report says debris from the manufacturing process may contaminate the engine and cause the main bearings to fail, which could cause the engine to stall. Affected drivers will receive letters in the mail.
Jaguar
Jaguar is recalling 22,268 of its 2018 – 2022 Range Rover Sport vehicles. The NHTSA report says water can cause the rear camera to display a poor quality image. The report says affected vehicles will have the rear cameras removed and inspected to correct the issue.
Volkswagen
Volkswagen is recalling 17,797 of its 2022 – 2024 Audi Q4 e-Tron and Q4 e-Tron Sportback vehicles. The NHTSA report says incorrect headlight control software was installed in the affected vehicles which may not comply with safety standards. The report says affected vehicles will be updated with a new data set to resolve the issue.
Mercedes-Benz
Mercedes-Benz is recalling 14,192 of its vehicles due to a battery issue. The recall affects the following vehicles:
- 2024-2024 Mercedes-Benz EQE 350 4MATIC
- 2023-2025 Mercedes-Benz EQE SUV 350 4MATIC
- 2024-2024 Mercedes-Benz EQE 350+
- 2023-2025 Mercedes-Benz EQE SUV 350+
- 2024-2024 Mercedes-Benz EQE 500 4MATIC
- 2023-2025 Mercedes-Benz EQE SUV 500 4MATIC
- 2024-2024 Mercedes-Benz EQS 450 4MATIC
- 2023-2025 Mercedes-Benz EQS SUV 450 4MATIC
- 2024-2024 Mercedes-Benz EQS 450+
- 2023-2025 Mercedes-Benz EQS SUV 450+
- 2024-2024 Mercedes-Benz EQS 580 4MATIC
- 2023-2025 Mercedes-Benz EQS SUV 580 4MATIC
- 2024-2025 Mercedes-Benz Maybach EQS SUV 680 4MATIC
- 2024-2024 Mercedes-Benz Mercedes-AMG EQE 53 4MATIC
- 2024-2025 Mercedes-Benz Mercedes-AMG EQE SUV 53 4MATIC
- 2024-2024 Mercedes-Benz Mercedes-AMG EQS 53 4MATIC
The NHTSA report says the battery in these vehicles could shut off unexpectedly, potentially causing a crash. The report says drivers will be notified, and that Mercedes-Benz dealers will update the battery management software to resolve the issue.
