AND ONE FROM THE FIRST ALERT WEATHER CENTER. METEOROLOGIST JONATHAN CHANDLER. WITH YOUR SEVERE STORM TIMELINE, THERE WILL BE TWO MAIN WAVES OF SEVERE WEATHER. THE FIRST WAVE FROM DAYBREAK TO 3:00 PM IS A LOW THREAT OR ISOLATED FOR ONE INCH HAIL, 60 MILE PER HOUR WINDS. THE WINDOWS TO WATCH BEFORE 7 P.M. IN WESTERN OKLAHOMA. THIS OVERLAP HERE 7 TO 10 DARK BLUE LIGHT BLUES. 10 A.M. TO 1 P.M., SO MAY TAKE MOST OF THE MORNING FOR THE STORMS TO MAKE IT TO OKC. THEN EAST OF I-35 AFTER 1 P.M. AGAIN, THIS IS JUST KIND OF WAVE NUMBER ONE. WAVE NUMBER TWO COMES IN AFTER 10:00. FOR MOST OF US, AND THE THREAT GOES UP TO LEVEL TWO ON A SCALE OF 1 TO 5. SO WE’RE LOOKING AT SCATTERED DAMAGE REPORTS, 70 MILE PER HOUR WINDS, PING PONG BALL SIZE HAIL. THERE IS A LOW TORNADO RISK. WE’LL GIVE THE TORNADO INDEX A ONE IN BLUE, A TWO IN WESTERN OKLAHOMA SO WE COULD GET SOME OF THOSE QUICK SPIN UPS ON A ON A SQUALL LINE. SO THE TIMING FOR WAVE NUMBER TWO WILL BE IN THE PANHANDLES BEFORE 7 P.M., 7 TO 10 P.M. IN WESTERN OKLAHOMA UP TO OKC FROM 10 P.M. TO 1 A.M., AND MOSTLY ACROSS CENTRAL OKLAHOMA AND EAST OF I-35 FROM 1 TO 4 A.M. BY 4 A.M. THOSE STORMS SHOULD REALLY START TO WEAKEN EAST OF I 35. BUT WAIT, THERE’S MORE. The first is a level-one marginal threat that could produce 60 mph winds and 1-inch hail from daybreak until 3 p.m. on Thursday.A severe thunderstorm warning was issued for Comanche, Jackson, Kiowa and Tillman counties as the first wave starts in western Oklahoma. The storms move into west-central Oklahoma from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. and then into central Oklahoma, including the OKC metro, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. before moving east of Interstate 35 after 1 p.m.The second wave comes in after 10 p.m. for most of Oklahoma, and the threat goes up to a level-two slight risk for central Oklahoma, including the OKC metro, and the western part of the state. Jonathan says those storms could produce 70 mph winds and come with a low tornado risk.The second wave will start in the Panhandle before 7 p.m. and will track into western Oklahoma between 7 p.m. and 10 p.m. and then part of central Oklahoma from 10 p.m. to 1 a.m. on Friday.
