The Dollar Tree distribution center that was significantly damaged by an EF-4 tornado in late April in Marietta will not reopen.
On April 27, a tornado touched down in southern Oklahoma, leaving behind a path of destruction that included devastation to the Dollar Tree distribution center near Interstate 35 in Marietta.
Sky 5 flew over the scene, showing that the tornado ripped open the Dollar Tree distribution center and destroyed a nearby Homeland store.
A Dollar Tree spokesperson told KXII in southern Oklahoma that all employees will be paid through June 22 and will receive severance and benefit packages. The warehouse employs more than 450 people.
No one inside the warehouse was hurt, but the tornado killed a passenger in a semi-trailer that got knocked over when the storm hit.
