The court documents, which were released on May 16, say Jacob Mayhugh confessed to Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation agents that he killed his parents, James and Patty Mayhugh, and his sister, Shayla Mayhugh.
During the interview, the court documents state that Jacob also outlined a plan to kill his family and commit "other acts of violence." The nature of the other acts of violence is unknown.
The investigation into the triple homicide, as well as the manhunt for Jacob, started on May 11 after police found James, Patty and Shayla Mayhugh dead inside a home near Sixth Street and Washington Avenue.
A previously released affidavit states that police also found an AR-15 rifle in the home's entryway. Investigators later determined that Jacob bought the AR-15 on April 25.
During the investigation, authorities learned that Jacob told his girlfriend on May 10 that he was going to eat pizza at his parents' house that evening. He left her apartment at 4:43 p.m. that day, according to the affidavit.
The new court documents say a plate of pizza, as well as a full pizza, were found inside the home after the murders. The state says that, plus the purchase of the AR-15 a little more than two weeks before the kills, "are consistent with a plan to commit a crime."
Following a multi-day manhunt, law enforcement found Jacob on May 14 sitting on a bench in Oklahoma City's Bricktown. He was arrested and has since been charged with three counts of first-degree murder.
